Examinations
SSLCM Examinations – India, an internal assessment board was started to ensure candidates have a thorough understanding of the subject. This examination system provides a more structured approach to the examining process that deals with a much more extensive understanding of the subject to deal with the competitive future.
The internal examination provides a more comfortable yet challenging platform for the students to be assessed. Correct assessment is a crucial part for successful teaching as well as fruitful learning as instruction needs to be calibrated according to the students favour. The challenges that students face in the international exams are therefore radically decreased as these internal examinations give a foresight to both tutors and pupils. The performance evaluation helps teachers to identify and develop appropriate instructions.
Effective instruction is inspirational and motivational and most importantly shaped by assessment as it can be catered based on the candidate’s difficulty. Thus SSLCM Examinations – India Board promises a structured strong and intense project providing a promising platform for several aspirants in our country who wish to excel in their subject nationally and internationally.
The SSLCM EXAMINATIONS is an effective method where examinations are taken Practically, i.e., performance on the instrument is judged individually. Exams are offered for a variety of Subjects and for many levels.
Theory of Music Examinations are also taken.
Also the Senior Exams especially Grade 3, Grade 5 & Grade 8 and Diplomas – DipLCM, ALCM, LLCM & FLCM Levels are taken from the University of West London – London College of Music. Established in 1887, the London College of Music Examinations (LCME) is one of the UK’s longest-established creative arts exam boards and the only one that is part of a leading British university, the University of West London.
ACCREDIATION: London College of Music Examinations (LCME) are awarded by University of West London Qualifications, which is recognised by Ofqual (the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator) and the corresponding organisations in Wales (Qualifications Wales) and Northern Ireland (CCEA) to offer regulated qualifications
Examinations are held for three sessions in Spring [Feb-March] , Summer[ June- July] , Winter [Nov- December].
Levels of Examinations are as follows:
- Steps 1, 2 3
- Grade 1 to Grade 8
- Diplomas- DipLCM, ALCM, LLCM, FLCM
Graded exams are offered in a wide range of subjects through a progressive system of 8 levels. Graded exams generate motivation and reward achievement, and the Grade 5 , 8, 7 Diplomas are recognised internationally.
Assessment bands are as follows:
- 85-100% – Distinction
- 75-84% – Merit
- 65-74% – Pass
- 0-64% – Unsuccessful
In the UK, LCME’s graded exams are regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and CCEA at Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework, and UCAS points are awarded for Grades 6–8.
LCME’s graded exams are also included on the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
